Ms. Mason is one of the longest tenured FQHC chief financial officers in North Carolina. In a challenging state FQHC financial environment, she has shepherded PHS successfully through substantial growth, from an operating budget of $5 million to over $95 million over the past 29 years.
Ms. Mason leads Piedmont Health Services, Inc.’s Finance Department, and oversees all financial policy, financial monitoring and reporting processes including the preparation of our operational budget and monitoring of all organizational grants and contracts. She manages Finance, Insurance and IT. Ms. Mason reports directly to the CEO and Finance Committee of the PHS Board. Outside PHS, Ms. Mason is former Board Treasurer of the NC Community Health Center Association (NCCHCA).
She has also served as Board Treasurer of Neighborhood House of Hillsborough, of Empowerment Inc. and of CommunityWorx (the former PTA Thrift Store). She received the Triangle Business Journal’s 2016 CFO of the Year in the Large Nonprofit category for her work at PHS.
Ms. Mason became a CCNC Board of Manager in July 2024.
